Welcome to

The Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering

Prf. Xiao will introduce us to electronic sensors, how they work and how can we use them in real life by programming them using Arduino board.

Explore

Explore how electronics are used in in biomedical applications.

In this course we are going to show a few example electronic sensors, such as:

  • Electrocardiogram (ECG) sensor
  • Galvanic Skin Response(GSR) sensor
  • Infrared thermal sensor.

We will first explain how the sensor works, and then show to use them in real life by programming them using Arduino board.

What is a sensor?

A sensor is anelectronic component utilized for detecting changes or events within itsenvironment. Sensors have made a huge impact in the world of biomedicine andalmost every field or industry is using it for productivity and progress.

By the end of this course, you’ll have begun tounderstand the broad subject of electronic sensors and have gained insightsinto the potential areas of study you could pursue when studying electronics inhigher education
